Kawartha Carving Competition

Lindsay Wood Carvers and Fine Arts Club

Who We Are

The Lindsay Wood Carvers and Fine Arts Club began in the fall of 2009 with a few interested carvers and presently has approximately 34 male and female members.

When We Meet

The Club meets every Monday afternoon (excluding holidays) from12:00 to 2:00 p.m. all year.

Where We Meet

The club meets at the Lindsay Armouries 210 Kent St. W. 2nd floor, North Room.

Club membership is open to any person having an interest in carving wood. We have a cross-section of abilities and interests that are freely shared and encouraged among the membership. Members pay an annual $20.00 membership fee to the Club along with a $4.00 fee for each meeting attended. These funds are used for books and other materials for the benefit of the members as well as for room rental and insurance.

Local Competitions and Shows

In the fall of each year, the Bobcaygeon Carving Club, the Buckhorn Carvers, Peterborough and District Wood Carvers and the Lindsay Wood Carving and Fine Arts Club host a show and competition in Bobcaygeon. The competition is open to carvers in the beginner, novice, intermediate and advanced levels in a variety of different categories. Monetary prizes and ribbons are awarded. Visitors delight in watching demonstration carving and talking to carvers about their hobby and creations. Carvings are offered for sale and carving suppliers are available to sell materials, tools, books and patterns. Visit Kawartha Carving Competition for more details.
